The Coady Picnic
The Annual Coady Women’s Picnic provides
an opportunity each summer for the women of Antigonish
to welcome women studying at the Coady International
Institute. This summer the picnic will be held on
Wednesday, August 18th , 2010 at 6:00 pm at the home of Charlie
ten Brinke, Brierly Brook. All are welcome. It
is an opportunity to share stories, learn about what
women are doing in other parts of the world, to laugh
and, perhaps, to sing and dance together. Women from
Antigonish are asked to bring a potluck dish. If you
would like to bring musical instruments (drums, guitars)
please do so. If you would like to volunteer, we
can use your help. Please call Rae-Ann Haley at the
Women’s Centre, 863-6221.

Ante Natal and Post Partum Support
Group The Ante Natal
and Post Partum Support Group provides help and support
to pregnant women, new mothers and mothers who have
experienced a traumatic birth. In a supportive group
setting women can talk about their experiences, get
answers to their questions about maternal health,
emotions and depression, and learn how to maintain a
healthy life. The Group is facilitated by midwife,
Amanda Ashe. It is a GASHA program offered through
Lindsay’s Health Centre for Women. The Group meets on
Thursdays at the Women’s Centre. Over the summer it
will meet once a month on July 15 and August 19.
During the fall it will meet the first two Thursdays of
each month: September 2 and 9, October 7 and 14,
November 4, and December 2 and 9.
Creative Circle
Mondays 1:00 - 2:30 pm Women are
welcome to bring their knitting, crocheting and
needlework projects and join the Creative Circle. If you
want to learn how to knit, we can teach you. The Circle
is a great way to meet new people and enjoy the company
of women.
The last circle for
the summer will be held June 28th. We will then
meet again in September.
Love to Sing? Join the Wandering
Menstruals Mondays, 5:15 - 6:30 at the Women’s
Centre
The Wandering Menstruals is a choir for women
who love to sing and want to sing woman-positive music.
We welcome all women and whether or not you think you
can sing is not an issue. Come and check us out.
The Wandering
Menstruals will not be singing throughout the summer
please join us in September.
